THE LAW PROMULGATED BY DECREE ON 13/11/2024 REQUIRES ALL OWNERS OF CAR PARKS WITH A SURFACE AREA OF 1500 M2 OR MORE (including driveways) to equip their car park with solar shading for at least 50% of its surface area before 2028 (unless an exemption is granted), in order to avoid the penalty of an annual fine of up to €40,000/year.
END OF PLANNING PERMISSION FOR SOLAR UP TO 3 MWC: A simple declaration to the town hall is all that is required to set up car park shade structures, regardless of their height. This amendment to the town planning code is in line with the decree requiring car parks to be solarised (article 40 of the renewable energy acceleration law).
